Fouad M. Fouad
About Fouad M. Fouad M.D. is an Associate Professor of Public Health at the American University of Beirut and Chair of the IDRC Forced Displacement Program for the Middle East. Fouad’s current research focuses on forced migration and health systems in fragile and conflict-affected settings. He has a special interest in the political economy of health in humanitarian settings and the multisystemic resilience in responding to multiple shocks. Fouad has extensive research on workforces in humanitarian settings and the weaponisation of healthcare in armed conflicts. He served as a commissioner in the UCL-Lancet Commission on Migration and Health. Fouad is a guest lecturer at the Geneva Center of Humanitarian Studies, Yale School of Public Health, Population and Family Health at the Columbia University Medical Center, and War Studies at King’s College London.
