Fadi El-Jardali

About
Dr. Fadi El-Jardali is the founder and Director of Knowledge to Policy (K2P) Center; Director of the WHO Collaborating Center for Evidence-informed Policy and Practice; Co-lead of the Government Engagement Platform (GEP); Co-director of Center for Systematic Review on Health Policy and Systems Research (SPARK). He is a Policy and Health and Social Systems Professor at the Faculty of Health Sciences at the American University of Beirut (AUB). He chairs the Founding Middle East Group for the International Government Science Systems as part of the International Network for Government Science Advice (INGSA).

He is a recognized policy and systems expert and global advocate for strong systems and for the use of different forms of evidence in policy and management decisions and practice. He works at the interface between evidence, policy and politics. He has extensive international and regional experience and multidisciplinary background in public policy, public health and social systems. His work is connected to real world systems and priorities and grounded in the practical understanding of economic, social, environmental and political realities, constraints and context.

He has initiated major initiatives and programs and helped establish knowledge translation platforms in selected countries in the MENA, European, Latin America, South-East Asia, and African Regions.

He has served on high-level committees in United Nations Organizations, Wellcome Trust, etc. He is a recipient of the Global Health Leadership Award and was elected twice to the Board of Health Systems Global (HSG) Society. Before joining AUB, Fadi held senior governmental positions with policy analysis related organizations in Canada.

He has PhD. in Public Policy from Carleton University in Canada.
